The University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego or UCSD) is a public land-grant research university in San Diego, California. UC San Diego is the southernmost of the ten campuses of the University of California, and offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, enrolling over 33,000 undergraduate and 9,000 graduate students. In November, 2017, the university announced that its athletic programs had begun a 6-year transition process from NCAA Division II to Division I, when it will be a member of the Big West Conference.
